RE: brake lights

Not sure what kind of tailights you have, but I had this popular version on my PopUp.
I'm glad you posted that! My year-old Jayco looked EXACTLY as yours. The bulb connector was corroded, almost from day 1 as I experienced problems the first year I had the pup (problems as the turn signal not working at times and I would have to 'jiggle it' to get it to work).
I never thought to pull the bulb as I never thought it would corrode on a new unit --- it did. I'll take a look at your fix.
HERE'S
a link to the complete process. PM me if you have any other questions.
Good luck,
Al
Well, I can't seem to get link set up that doesn't need a password. PM me and I'll give you the "view only" password. (Forum rules prohibit posting it here.)
Sorry,

After about 6 months, the brake lights quit working on both sides, and this is why - corrosion on the bottom contacts. Tailight units were not sealed at all and held water in the lens.
http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n50/AlBrunk/Starcraft%2036RT%20tailight%20mods/Mvc-438s.jpg?t=1223172138
I went to Northern Equipment and got this stuff,
http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n50/AlBrunk/Starcraft%2036RT%20tailight%20mods/Mvc-441s.jpg?t=1223172256
and made these.

http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n50/AlBrunk/Starcraft%2036RT%20tailight%20mods/Mvc-450s.jpg?t=1223172532
That pretty much put an end to those issues.

RE: Tell me about tailgating

We did a couple of Gator games last fall and had a blast. Since you have something in common with everyone else there, it's instant friendships. We became best friends with everyone around us, some we may never see again.
We were in the "free" lot, which was a good distance from the stadium, but it didn't matter. We didn't have tickets anyway! At game time we sat in the TH, watched the game on the lcd-tv, drank our own booze, ate our own food, and even took a cat-nap during the 3rd quarter. Just went for the food, fun, friendship.

RE: Electric jack noise

After about a year, mine got to where it would make a terrible howling noise. I shot a little WD-40 into the gearhead and it quieted right down.

We heard there was a recession, but decided not to participate. We're still working, driving, RVing, eating, buying, spending, and living.
It's a lot more fun this way.

RE: Mounting clothes rod in crew cab back seat

On my '05 Chevy there are little nub-like (Is that a word?) hooks molded into the rear grab handles. I made a clothes rod by drilling a hole through each end of an old broom handle, pass a length of 1/4 inch rope through each of the holes and tie it into a loop. Hang the loops over the "hooks", and you're all set.

RE: Picture of ours!!

Sweeeeeet. Where in MO? My sister and BIL are in Jeff City.
We live near Salem, MO in the woods!!!
Cool. We used to go through there all the time on our way to the Current River. I went to school at Kirksville, lived in KC for awhile and still have friends in Rolla, Joplin, and Bourbon.
Yes folks, I said Bourbon!

RE: Off-Road Folding Camping Trailers

Does anyone know why all the off-road folding camper trailers have to have that cargo deck on the tongue? I don't have any atv's or motorcycles and those extra feet would take up room in my garage. Also out of all the off-road folding camper trailers, which gives the most bang for the buck and is still high in quality?
When we had our 36RT we used the deck to haul all this stuff:
http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n50/AlBrunk/Labor%20Day%202006/Mvc-366s.jpg?t=1222870077
and then, at camp, it made a great place for keeping coolers, storage boxes, firewood, fishing tackle and other gear up off the ground.

Skyjammer - That's some good stuff there. I'm still throwing out my elbow patting myself on the back when I do a link that works. Good job!

RE: My tour of duty in Tallahassee comes to an end.

Welcome Home Al,
After things settle down we'll have to get together for a trip.
Regards to you and Reeni
Randy
Sounds good. As soon as it cools off, we want to get over to Lake O (now that it has water again) and do some fishing.
BTW, my sister and her husband are looking at trading their PopUp for a hybrid. Any more thoughts along those lines on your end?
Later,
Al

RE: Those poor Bluehairs

I don't mean to be a blue hair but i so enjoy nature and all it has to offer, I grew up in conn. in the woods so i appreciate the sound of just what belongs there, Not that i dont like the tunes at certain times likes discos in the dez but i am far happier on the outside ring i don't want to spoil the fun of the folks that like camping opposite of the way i like, it all has its place!:B
Wow looks like the sheriff's are enforcing that decibel rule huh?
Truth be told, I can count on one hand the number of times I have had the stereo on in the trailer in 6 years, let alone loud enough to upset the campers/campground. The reason for the speakers, just so I can sit next to my trailer and listen to some good music, if I so desire without having to turn it up and open the windows... The reason for my post you ask, cause it's been to quite around here and I just wanted to see if I could get some one to pop a blood vesel over NOTHING!!!!!
Have a good day all!!!
I think yer' an insigtate, ... ingastat, ... istnagt, ... TROUBLEMAKER!
